The start of the excerise (you can tell it's the start....they're all smiling).
The crew use sea-survival techniques and form a circle to stay together and support each other.
The crew using sea-survival techniques to swim together. This takes great team work, but is much quicker than swimming on your own in a heavy sea.
One of the crew is capsizing the liferaft.....Leaving it the right way up would be too easy.
When the Liferaft is deployed it may capsize, so all crew are trained to right it manually.
One of the crew approaches the liferaft ready to climb onboard and start the righting.
The crew member climbs up onto the liferaft, taking hold of the "righting ladder."
One of the crew climbs onto the liferaft, placing their feet onto the air tank, allowing them to use their weight to bring it over.
Leaning back, keeping their legs straight the crew member can use their weight to bring the liferaft over.
With the weight of the crew, the liferaft comew over "easily" ("yeah right, you were'nt the one dangling off it").
Now the liferaft is over, the crew member can swim out from it and then climb in using the boarding ladder and boarding step.
After the exercise the crew carry the liferaft back up the slipway for cleaning and deflating.....Notice where the coxswain is...(Behind the camera).
